Dave Favours & The Roadside Ashes

After spending several years in country rockers. The Delivery, Dave Favours (vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica) embarked on a solo career some time in 2012, releasing an album and an EP to critical acclaim. In his spare time, he also makes up one half of acoustic cowpunk duo, The Saloon Daddies. With a desire to play in a good old fashioned band again, Favours formed the Roadside Ashes late in 2016.

The group is completed by Dave Hatt (bass, backing vocals), Simon Li (drums, backing vocals) and Aaron Langman (Pedal Steel, Lead Guitar).

Whilst they don’t like labels, it’s fair to say that Dave Favours &The Roadside Ashes play alternative country in the truest sense. There’s definite influences from the best that the genre has to offer, including the Drive-By Truckers, Old 97’s and Lucero. Throw into the mix some Exile-era Stones, Steve Earle at his most rockin’ and 80’s punk and indie stalwarts like The Replacements, Husker Du and The Saints and you’ll get an idea of where they’re coming from.

Their debut 7" single, Part Time has just been released. The single was recorded at Love Hz studios with Michael Carpenter and is the first taste of the group’s forthcoming album, which is due out later in the year.
