The Delivery

After 2 years of relentless gigging and the release of their debut album, The Delivery (formerly Mo Trowell & The Delivery) realised that something was wrong. They were heading in a different direction to their former front lady. Just when things started happening for them, they made the tough decision and parted ways.

Two weeks later, local songstress Ms. Brielle Davis entered their rehearsal room to audition with a guitar in one hand and an icy cold six-pack in the other. It was a match made in heaven. At only 26 years of age, Davis was already a veteran of the music scene, having released her first album at the age of 12. To this day, she is still the youngest person ever to be nominated for a Golden Guitar award. She went on to have a couple of dance/pop hits in her early twenties but soon woke up to the fact that the likes of Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Micah P. Hinson, Mark Lanegan, Justin Townes Earle and blues greats like BB King and George ‘Harmonica’ Smith were more her style.

With a revised moniker and new lead singer, The Delivery went on to release their Thinkin’ About Givin’ Up On You EP within a matter of weeks. Their sound owes as much to country music legends Hank, Haggard and Cash as it does to Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and the Rolling Stones and even badass seminal eighties acts like the Gun Club, the Bad Seeds and the Beasts of Bourbon.

This sure as hell ain’t posers in cowboy boots. It’s tough, honest, dark urban country rock and booze-soaked blues.

With the recent departure of founding member, Dave Favours, The Delivery are now known as Not Good With Horses.
